Canadian Transit & Weather Updates – November 22, 2024

BRITISH COLUMBIA

Coquihalla Highway – Hope to Merritt and Highway 3 – Paulson Summit to Kootenay Pass under Snowfall Warning.  Environment Canada has advised – “Another fall storm is expected to impact southern BC beginning today. The system is forecast to remain offshore over the next few days, with associated bands of precipitation pushing into the region from the south, bringing 30 to 40 cm of snow into the region.”

Wind Warnings continue for Vancouver Island, Metro Vancouver and Coastal Regions. 70-90 km/hr today until Saturday – power outages and hazardous driving conditions possible.

ALBERTA

15-25 cm expected as another long period of snowfall makes its way across Alberta heading into Saturday. Travel may be difficult due to deteriorating road conditions and should be postponed if possible.

SASKATCHEWAN

Southern and central Saskatchewan can expect another 10-20 cm of snow from now until Sunday morning. Reduced visibility and accumulating snow could cause difficult travel.  Consider postponing non-essential travel.

QUEBEC / NOVA SCOTIA / NEWFOUNDLAND

Wind warnings in effect! Up to 90 km/hr wind gusts may pose travel issues for those in high profile vehicles.  Power outages and damage to structures possible.
