ONTARIO

Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued for London and surrounding regions.

ECC states – Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain. Hazards: Wind gusts up to 90 km/h. Local rainfall amounts up to 50 mm possible. Up to nickel size hail. Timing: This morning. Discussion: The initial line of thunderstorms that triggered warnings earlier this morning has since dissipated. Another wave of thunderstorms may develop this morning which could produce isolated damaging wind gusts, torrential downpours and large hail. Strong wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off trees and overturn large vehicles. Intense lightning is likely with any thunderstorm that develops. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads.”
