- HWY 5A – CLOSED – HOPE TO MERRITT – Detour on HWY 8 available for commercial traffic
ALBERTA
BLOWING SNOW advisory in effect for Calgary and surrounding regions. Hwy 2 Calgary to Red Deer and Hwy 1 east of Calgary will be impacted – non-essential travel should be postponed – transportation delays expected.
WIND WARNING for parts of southern regions – Hwy 3 Lethbridge to BC susceptible to be overturned due to 130 km/hr winds – due to challenging driving conditions for highsided vehicles – transportation delays are expected.
WINTERSTORM WARNING for east and southeast regions.
Blizzard like conditions will result in delayed transport and deliveries in the below areas – travel not recommended:
- HWY 16 east of Edmonton
- HWY 12 east of Red Deer
- Hwy 14 and Hwy 9 Wainwright to Oyen
- Hwy 9 east of Drumheller to SK border
- Hwy 1 and Hwy 9 susceptible to flash freezing
SASKATCHEWAN
Portions of southern Saskatchewan, including the Yellowhead and Trans-Canada highway corridor can expect serious travel delays due to Blizzard warnings. Travel will be dangerous and road closures possible.

WINTER STORM expected to begin tonight in northern regions of the province and continuing through Friday. Blowing snow with accumulation up to 50 cm may create dangerous travel conditions. Non-essential travel should be postponed. Delays in transportation expected, road closures possible.
