BRITISH COLUMBIA

Special Weather Statement issued for Vancouver Island and Mainland BC Coast – Environment Canada has advised – “A significant fall storm is set to impact Vancouver Island beginning on Tuesday. An area of low pressure will deepen rapidly some 400 kms west of Vancouver Island on Tuesday. This low is forecast to then curl northwards on Wednesday, remaining offshore through the period. Strong winds may down trees or cause tree limbs to break. Be prepared for power outages, Travel delays will be possible.”

Snowfall Warning in effect for Coquihalla Highway – Hope to Merritt.  5-10cm of snow expected to end near noon. Possible travel delays due to winter driving conditions combined with reduced visibility.

ALBERTA

Environment Canada has issued a Snowfall Warning for southern regions of Alberta – 10cm of snow expected to significantly impact rush hour traffic in urban areas.  Travel conditions expected to deteriorate quickly.

SASKATCHEWAN / MANITOBA

ECCC has advised – “A winter storm is poised to affect eastern Saskatchewan and western Manitoba this week. A strong low pressure system approaching from the south will bring rain, freezing rain, snow and strong winds to much of eastern Saskatchewan and western Manitoba beginning Monday evening and continuing Tuesday through Wednesday. Blizzard conditions are possible in some areas. Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility in some locations.”
