Canadian Transit & Weather Updates – March 27, 2025

SASKATCHEWAN UPDATE: MAR 27, 2025 – 15:35 EST

TRAVEL NOT RECOMMENDED FROM MB BORDER TO FORT QU’APPELLE AND REGINA

ALBERTA / SASKATCEHWAN / MANITOBA

Transportation delays expected as snowfall warnings hit central regions our prairie provinces.  Some areas may expect up to 30cm of snow by Friday morning.  Road conditions expected to change and deteriorate quickly making way for hazardous travel conditions.

ONTARIO / SOUTHWESTERN QUEBEC

Prolonged and widespread freezing rain in store for southern, northeastern Ontario and southwestern Quebec beginning Friday and carrying on to Monday.  With up to 20mm of accretion possible, roads may become dangerous resulting in delayed transportation.  Utility outages may also occur.

QUEBEC

Snowsquall warning in effect for regions north of Gatineau.  Environment Canada has advised the following – “A cold front will produce heavy flurries this afternoon and this evening. Visibilities may be suddenly reduced to near zero locally. Following the passage of the front, temperatures will fall rapidly below the freezing mark, which could make some surfaces icy and slippery. Travel may be hazardous due to sudden changes in the weather.”

NOVA SCOTIA

Snowfall warning in effect for Cape Breton – expected to end later today.  May result in travel disruptions in the region due to poor road conditions.
