Canadian Transit & Weather Updates – July 8, 2024

HEAT WARNING!!!

Environment Canada has issued HEAT warnings across the country.

Humidex values expected to reach between 35 and 39 degrees Celsius in the following provinces:

  • British Columbia
  • Alberta
  • Saskatchewan
  • Ontario (GTA and surrounding areas)
  • New Brunswick
  • Nova Scotia
  • Prince Edward Island
  • Newfoundland / Labrador

ECC advises – “Watch for the effects of heat illness: swelling, rash, cramps, fainting, heat exhaustion, heat stroke and the worsening of some health conditions. Drink plenty of water regularly, even before you feel thirsty to decrease your risk of dehydration. Thirst is not a good indicator of dehydration.”
