BRITISH COLUMBIA – East Vancouver Island

Environment Canada has issued a Special Weather Statement for East Vancouver Island – Heavy rain and thunderstorms expected today into the night – 30-50mm.  Heavy downpours may result in flash flooding and pooling water on roadways.

MANITOBA – Gillam

A Severe Thunderstorm is being tracked by Environment Canada meteorologists – thunderstorm may produce strong wind gusts, hail (nickel to ping pong ball in size), and heavy rain.

QUEBEC

Storm Surge Warning continues for Quebec area.  ECC has issued the following statement: “Warning of potential coastal flooding issued jointly by Fisheries and Oceans Canada (Science) and the Meteorological Service of Canada – Quebec Region. Higher than normal water levels are expected near the shore on Wednesday morning. A northeasterly flow will bring moderate winds to the region listed below. The combination of these winds and the fact that we are currently in a period of high tidal ranges could cause minor flooding along coastlines in the vicinity of the following locality on the date and at the times specified (local time). Quebec City: 2024-08-21, from 06:45 AM to 09:45 AM. Flooding is possible along the coastline. Coastal erosion is possible in vulnerable areas. These warnings are issued when water levels pose a flooding threat to coastal areas.”
