Snow Squalls Continue for Southern Ontario – January 28, 2026

Snow Squall warnings off Lake Ontario as we move towards midday.  Intense snowfall rates and blowing snow may pose hazardous driving conditions with limited to zero visibility.  the 401 corridor will be highly impacted by this lake effect snow squall.  Transportation, pick up and delivery delays are anticipated (Port Hope to Kingston).

Regions off Lake Huron and Georgian Bay will see widespread blowing and drifting snow into Thursday morning.  Non-essential travel should be postponed.  Up to 50cm possible.

Snow squalls continue this morning for regions off Lake Superior.  Reduced visibility due to blowing snow may result in hazardous driving conditions. Transportation, pick up and delivery delays expected as non-essential travel should be postponed.

Delays and backlog continue in the GTA as the city continues to dig out of record breaking snow fall.
