BRITISH COLUMBIA

Snowfall Warning in effect for Haines Road – Haines Junction to Pleasant Camp and South Klondike Highway – Carcross to White Pass.

Environment Canada has advised – “Heavy snow Thursday and Thursday night. Snowfall accumulations ranging from 20 to possibly 30 cm by Friday morning. Deteriorating travel conditions. Reduced visibility in heavy snow and drifting snow. If you must travel, keep others informed of your schedule and destination and carry an emergency kit and mobile phone. Public Safety Canada encourages everyone to make an emergency plan and get an emergency kit with drinking water, food, medicine, a first-aid kit and a flashlight. Rainfall Warning continues for North Coast – inland including Kitimat.  ECC has stated – “Approximately 60 mm has already fallen since Wednesday morning. A further 50 to 70 mm is expected before the rain eases Friday morning. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.”

NEWFOUNDLAND / LABRADOR

Environment Canada has issued a Special Weather Statement for parts of northeastern and eastern Newfoundland. The statement release from Environment Canada has advises the following – “Potential wintry weather this weekend. A developing storm is expected to affect parts of Newfoundland this upcoming weekend. The potential exists for significant snowfall over parts of northeastern and eastern Newfoundland.”
