ONTARIO

Due to heavy snow in the WAWA region, portions of HWY 17 and HWY 101 may see deteriorating travel conditions.  Reduced visibility and snowfall of up to 15cm possible.

NOVA SCOTIA

Snowfall warning in effect, up to 20cm possible. Strong winds may result in blowing snow causing poor visibility. Travel is expected to be hazardous.  Transportation, pick up and delivery delays are likely.  Utility services may be disrupted.

Cape Breton – Public transit currently not operating – all municipal and recreational buildings closed.

Coastal flooding due to storm surge possible this morning near shorelines and vulnerable regions.  Locals should continue to monitor conditions.

  • Sydney / Cape Breton Area:
    • Operations are paused for today due to unfavorable weather conditions.
  • Dartmouth/Kentville/Bridgewater/Truro
    • Roads are icy. Terminals are operating, albeit slowly.
  • New Glasgow
    • Roads are icy compounded with strong winds; terminal will make best efforts but expect delays.

NEWFOUNDLAND

Winter Storm warning in effect.  up to 50cm possible in some areas.  All non-essential travel should be postponed.  Delays in transport, pick ups and deliveries certain.  Public services, business closures and school closures expected.  TRAVEL NOT RECOMMENDED SOUTH / SOUTHEAST of CLARENVILLE.

Coastal flooding possible between 8am and 12pm.  Properties in and around coastal regions likely to be affected by spray and overtopping waves. People are reminded to stay away from such areas to avoid potentially life threating incidents.

    • Operations are paused for today due to the severe weather conditions.
